Fish Defeat Canes 7-2

The Marlins got Spring Training off to a great start on Tuesday with a win over the University of Miami by the score of 7-2.    The first run of the game came in the first and was knocked in by Josh Willingham with an RBI single.   Another run was added by a Mike Jacobs sac fly also in the first inning.   Cody Ross would score on a wild pitch in the 2nd frame.   Later runs from the Marlins were added in the 5th and 6th innings.   Starter Bobby Keppel got the win after 1 scoreless inning to start the game.   After the first inning, there was a 33 minute rain delay during which Keppel was replaced.    The other Marlin pitchers who appeared in this game were De La Cruz, Seddon, Delgado, Nelson, Nestor, Tankersley and Gardner.

The Marlins will take on the Washington Nationals on Wednesday to officially start the Grapefruit league season.
