Spring Recap - 3/25
March 25, 2008 by Larry Walansky
As Spring Training neared closer to it’s end today, the Marlins lost a game to the Orioles 8-1. Former Opening Day starter hopeful, Scott Olsen took the loss in a tough outing. Olsen lasted 4 innings and gave up 6 earned runs raising concerns about how much he is behind due to an injury earlier this Spring. He is expected to start the 4th game of the season vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates. Logan Kensing, Kevin Gregg, and Chris Leroux added scoreless innings for the fish. Justin Miller had a rough inning out of the pen giving up 2 earned runs and 3 walks. The only run for the fish today came courtesy of a Mike Jacobs RBI pinch hit.
On the transaction front, Dallas McPherson was optioned to AAA further cementing the theory that the Opening Day third base job is going to Jorge Cantu.
The Marlins will play the New York Mets on Wednesday.
