Spring Recap - 3/28

March 28, 2008

As things moved to Dolphin Stadium today for Spring Training, the Marlins defeated the New York Yankees 5-3. Andrew Miller faced off against Mike Mussina as both squads used their regular season lineups for the majority of the game. Miller threw for 5 innings surrendering 3 earned runs on 9 hits. Impressive however were the 6 strikeouts Miller had against a very disciplined Yankees lineup. Matt Lindstrom, Logan Kensing, Justin Miller and Joe Nelson all added scoreless innings of relief as the bullpen shut things down and held the lead. Mike Jacobs hit 2 home runs in this game giving him 5 for the Spring.

On Saturday, the fish take on the Yankees again in the final game of the Spring Training season.
