Wild Game Ends With Loss

The Marlins and Colorado Rockies combined for a total of 35 runs and 43 hits in Friday’s game.   The fish saw a 13-4 lead in the 4th inning evaporate as starter Scott Olsen struggled along with the bullpen.    Every reliever had time on the mound for the fish in a game that dropped the team to 3.5 games behind the first place Phillies.

Pen Coughs Up Lead Twice

The Marlins opened a series with the Colorado Rockies on Thursday with a 6-5 loss in 11 innings.   After a strong effort from starter, Andrew Miller the fish saw two leads lost when the bullpen faltered.   With the loss, the fish dropped to 2.5 games behind the first place Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East.   The Marlins’ record for this season now sits at 44-41.

Nolasco shines as Marlins end skid

MIAMI - Ricky Nolasco pitched eight strong innings, surviving a 33-pitch first inning, allowing six hits and one earned run to lead the Florida Marlins to a 3-1 win over the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks in front of 15,291 fans at Dolphin Stadium on Friday night.

The win snapped the Marlins’ four-game losing streak and allowed Florida to inch to within one game of National League East-leading Philadelphia, a 7-6 loser to Texas on Friday night.

Marlins Hang On To Win

The Marlins won Saturday’s game against the Oakland Athletics 6-4 after escaping a bases loaded jam in the 9th.   Dan Uggla put the team ahead by 3 in the top of the inning, and Jorge Cantu saved the day with a diving stop with the bases loaded and a 2 run lead in the bottom half of the inning to clinch the win.   The fish are now one game behind the Phillies in the N.L. East.

Marlins Within Two of First

The Marlins closed the gap to 2 games in the National League East with a 8-3 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.  The win gave the Marlins a series win in their first ever visit to Seattle and ended a string of 20 games in 20 days.   With the win, the fish are now 39-33 and have won three of their last four games.
