Wild Game Ends With Loss

The Marlins and Colorado Rockies combined for a total of 35 runs and 43 hits in Friday’s game. The fish saw a 13-4 lead in the 4th inning evaporate as starter Scott Olsen struggled along with the bullpen. Every reliever had time on the mound for the fish in a game that dropped the team to 3.5 games behind the first place Phillies.

Interstate Rivals Take Game One

The Citrus series resumed on Tuesday as the Tampa Bay Rays came into South Florida and notched a 6-4 win. In a well pitched game by Florida Marlins‘ starter Scott Olsen, the bullpen once again faltered and cost the fish a chance to move into a tie with the Philadelphia Phillies who also lost. The Marlins rallied in the bottom of the 9th but fell short of a comeback victory.

Oakland Series Ends With Rout

On Sunday, the Marlins completed a series with the Oakland Athletics by dropping a game 7-1. The fish fell behind early and never recovered to fall to 40-35 on the season. The Marlins remained 1 game back of the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East who lost as well on Sunday.

Fish Drop Close Decision

On Tuesday, the Marlins dropped game 2 of their series against the Seattle Mariners 5-4. Down by 4 runs early, the fish fought back but fell a run short. With the loss, the team remained 3 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the N.L. East. Scott Olsen made the start and struggled before exiting in the 5th inning.

Fish Take Seattle Opener

The Marlins played their first ever game in Seattle on Monday and opened the series against the Seattle Mariners with a 6-1 win. The win was the team’s 2nd in a row and kept them 3 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East. The Marlins and Mariners had only played one series in history prior to this with that series taking place in Florida back in 2005.
