Webb returns to dominate form as Marlins fall 6-2

Miami - Brandon Webb returned to his dominate form to lead the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-2 win over the Florida Marlins on Saturday night in front of 27,777 fans at Dolphin Stadium.

Webb (12-4) pitched six innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, three walks and struck out eight to earn the win. Offensively, Mark Reynolds had two double and two RBI and Chris Young chipped in with a double and three RBI to pace Arizona.

For the Marlins, the news got worse than just the loss. Second baseman Dan Uggla suffered an apparent sprained ankle as he rounded first base en route to second on an apparent double. Uggla left the game to get checked out and results of those tests were pending.

Andrew Miller (5-7) was credited with the loss after going 5 2/3 innings, allowing five hits, five runs (three earned), three walks and struck out four. The Marlins bullpen - Logan Kensing, Justin Miller and Joe Nelson - combined to pitch the final 3 1/3 innings allowing just five hits and no runs while striking out one.

The Marlins will look to win the series in Sunday’s series finale as Scott Olsen (4-4, 3.44) takes the mound against Dan Haren (8-4, 3.04) at 1:10 p.m.
